I'm excited to connect with you!
My name is Scarlett and I have been practicing photography since the COVID lockdown in 2020. I took a break as I stepped into motherhood and in hopes to re-discover myself, I found myself picking my camera back up. I upgraded all of my gear and stepped back into the world and have absolutely fallen in love with my practice. I don't just do it to pay the bills but I do it because it's something I genuinely enjoy doing and could not be myself without. My career has not only saved my life but it's given me a lifetime of experiences with the amazing people who step in front of my lens and make it all worth it.
What it's like to work with me
I'm a very focused professional, and I like to create a fun and energetic atmosphere. I start each session off making my clients comfortable, with simple things like "walk towards me" while I do a few test shots and make sure my camera settings are correct.
As the session goes on and clients are comfortable, I start giving more energetic prompts and changing my camera settings here and there for particular shots.
why?
I was raised by my great grandmother and she was very organized with our family photo albums. We used to sit on the floor with our backs against the couch just going through old photos for hours. I couldn't had been much older than five noticing the vintage feel, the emotions it captured, and how fondly my grandmother looked back at them. The random details on some photos, like a cropped in image of my aunts and uncles holding each other with their small little baby hands when they were kids.
When I create a gallery, I want to re-create that warm feeling. You see everything, the big picture and those cute details so that in 10-15 years when you're looking back, you remember all of those emotions.
